As from 1 June 2020 South Africa moved to Level 3 (Covid 19 lockdown). The implications regarding weddings are that both the following two options are permitted:
A telephonic appointment can be made at the Department of Home Affairs where the couple and their two witnesses may be present together with the Home Affairs Officer who will conduct the legal ceremony.
The couple can be married by a Registered Marriage Officer/Minister of Religion. In this case those present can also be the Marriage Officer, the couple and their two witnesses.
Whereas most couples who had planned their big day for this time have postponed their wedding date some have chosen the second option as mentioned above, i.e. to have a small intimate ceremony now and then possibly
the celebration at a venue with family and friends later this year or even in 2021. It would be an honour and a privilege to assist you in this regard should this be your choice.
